5 Drills Every Child Should Be DoingIn 2021, Rising Stars Basketball started the second season serving northern Wisconsin with opportunities for athletes to take their talents around the Midwest. The 17U Boys consisted of athletes from Hayward Community School District, Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School, South Shore School District, and the Hurley School Districts of northern Wisconsin. When you hear those schools, you may think blaze orange, snowmobiling or resorts. However, in the summer of 2021, most teams thought the same thing.
The 17U Boys team finished the summer with a 9-2 record, getting wins against a number of D1 commits, and some powerhouse clubs. Rising Stars came with a heavy dose of Pack-Line defense, and a fast paced 5-out spread offense. The undersized players posed a problem with the fast break and secondary break. 17U Boys Meet AgainThe 17U Boys get together regularly and cheer on one another, they also compete together in the Indianhead Conference in northern Wisconsin. The Hayward athletes come out to cheer on the athletes in the LCO vs Hurley games, LCO vs South Shore games, and vice versa. Our South Shore, Hurley and LCO boys cheer on the Hayward boys.
