Rising Stars Athlete Attends Multiple Showcase EventsHayward Wis - Rising Stars Basketball athlete and Class of 2026 prospect, Kendal DeCora participated in a wide range of showcase and expo events in the summer of 2022.
Midwest Showcase On June 20, 2022 Exact Sports held the Midwest Show in Minnetonka, Minnesota at the Hopkins High School. Present were 50 invite-only athletes from around the Midwest, and 12 college coaches from the Twin Cities region. WSN Fall Basketball Showcase On September 11, 2022 the Wisconsin Sports Network (WSN) held their annual Fall Basketball Showcase, highlighting the top basketball prospects in the state of Wisconsin. Present were 107 athletes invited, and registered to participate in 5-on-5 games with 20 minute running clock. Each athlete was able to play in front of college coaches, sports writers, and private school recruiters. Prep Girls Hoops Freshmen Showcase On September 18, 2022 PrepGirlsHoops held their annual Midwest Freshmen Showcase at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Present were 75 female athletes in the Class of 2026 from around the Midwest. Athletes were divided into teams and allowed to play in front of college coaches, sports writers, and private school recruiters. Prep Girls Hoops provided a much different format whereas each team played for a different coach for each of their 5 games. Prep Girls Hoops Wisconsin Top 250 On September 25, 2022 Prep Girls Hoops held their very first Girls Top 250 event at Champions Center Court Arena in Appleton, Wisconsin. Present were 122 girls looking to get onto the Top 250 list posted to social media by Prep Girls Hoops. Again, athletes were divided into teams and allowed to play in front of college coaches, sports writers, and private school recruiters. Feedback from Kendal DeCora Kendal states, "The showcase events were a lot of fun, I was able to make a lot of friends that also love playing basketball. It was good to see how I stack up against the best players in the Midwest, and know that I can play with them. I also realize that I need to get into the gym to work on my game to keep pace with them." Kendal DeCora is a Class of 2026 athlete who attends Hayward High School in Hayward Wisconsin, and participates in Cross Country, Basketball, and Soccer. When she isn't competing on the field, she participates in Pep Band, Drama Club, Student Council, works a part-time job at Marketplace Foods and runs her family business, Three Bears Lawn Care. Kendal plans to attend Iowa University and play for Hawkeyes, following in the footsteps of Megan Gustafson, a class of 2015 athlete from South Shore High School (Port Wing, WI), a 2019 graduate from the Iowa Hawkeyes and won the AP Women's Player of the Year, and Naismith Player of the Year, 2018 and 2019 ESPN Player of the Year, and a 17th overall draft pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft. |
